Back in Action

So last time I posted anything the Wolfs were facing extinction due to the fact that my game kept crashing.

I had uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it was still crashing, and it seemed like nothing could be done to fix it. But fortunately I managed to find a solution.
After removing my mods folder I booted up the game and it actually did load, which proved that it was something in my mods that was causing the problem. Unfortunately this meant I then had to spend the entire day adding my mods subfolders in one by one and rebooting the game to see if it worked... In the end I determined the fault was with one of my Newsea hairs, which is weird because it's a hair I've had for ages without an issue- it's like it spontaneously corrupted or something.

Anyways- TL;DR- my game is working again, woohoo.

Let's celebrate with a new chapter of The Wolf Family Legacy eh?

THE WOLF FAMILY LEGACY

Tuesday 14 April 2015

Soooooooooooo....

Yeah, sucky times right. Unfortunately it's completely necessary.

Y'see, for the past several days I haven't been able to play my game at all- I load it up and bare minutes into my gameplay the fricking thing crashes. I've had issues with this game in the past before (who hasn't?) and normally I can fix things by resetting the whole town, or moving my active family out and then back in again, or even saving the household and plonking them down into a completely new game file. But this time? Ho no.

I tried resetting the town and it crashed.
I tried moving the family and it crashed.
I tried starting a fresh game file and it crashed.
It got to a point when the freaking game crashed just on the loading screen.

I have tried every trick I know to fix my game and nothing works, and it's not like I can even ask online for help as I know the first thing people will say is 'have you tried removing all your mods and custom content?'
Hell naw, my CC and me are inseparable.

Anywho, this is now the last resort- I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game and all of it's expansion packs. Momentarily I will be starting things up again and plonking the legacy save file back in and seeing how we get along.

Wish me luck!

Boardwalk Empire

You know I've never bought anything from the Sims 3 Store before. Followers of my gameplay may now be thinking 'eh, I'm sure I've seen Store content in her game...'
Well, you're not wrong, but there are other ways to acquire content, oh there are ways...

However, the only downside of the 'other ways' (other than a slight tingly feeling that might be my sense of morality trying to make a comeback) is that sometimes the content doesn't always work in the way you would want it to. Normally objects are fine, but premium content- the stuff that involves new interactions etc.- can sometimes come out a bit wrong. For example, in my current Sims game at this time there's a custom sunflower that is spitting out white boxes of apathy into the garden instead of seeds or whatever it's supposed to be doing...

Anyways, given these complications I recently found myself eyeing up some premium content from the Store, and buoyed by a recent payrise from work (yey) I decided to actually purchase some Simpoints.

Now just what did I get with my hard earned virtual money...?

I'm a sucker for a good funfair, so when I saw that I could have freaking rollercoaster in my Sims game I was pretty darn excited about it. Immediately after downloading I of course sent SimFury by to check out the place.

But the thing about funfairs is, they're not that much fun on your own are they?

Haiiiiiiiiiiii Wolfie.

Readers of The Heart Family Legacy will be familiar with Wolfie and his shenanigans... He started off being somewhat of a creeper but in the end he was pretty much considered a beloved member of the extended legacy family.

And the thing that makes Wolfie the perfect person to check out the fair with is the fact that he's childish, as shown by the fact that he was all up for a bit of hopscotch.

Teehee...

But enough with the minor activities, what we're really interested in is the rollercoasters right? So let's get to it.

I sent SimFury and Wolfie off on their first coaster and it was pretty thrilling, with water, jumps, and adorable facial expressions.

There were also some pretty good drops.

There's actually two rollercoasters in the lot- the second of which had this pretty impressive loop.

And also an Oblivion-style drop.

SimFury looks much more excited about it than I would be at this point...

Yep, in reality I would be needing a trouser-change right about now.

I was having a mild panic at this point that the coaster was unfinished, but SimFury and Wolfie didn't seem bothered in the least.

They landed safely anyways, so all was good.

After the excitement of the rollercoaster I sent SimFury and Wolfie to cool down for a bit with a nice snocone. This isn't a feature the lot actually came with, I added the snocone machine in myself.
As if EA doesn't provide refreshments on this lot! How rude- there should be an ice cream truck on site at all times methinks.

*NOM*

After the break for refreshments I sent SimFury and Wolfie to explore what else the Boardwalk had to offer. And that's where I had problems. Other than the two rollercoasters there just wasn't really a whole lot to do on the lot.

In the end the duo just started dancing to pass the time.

Ooops... Apparently SimFury is clumsy, just like the real me.

But I guess Wolfie didn't mind as he glomped her straight after.

*SELFIE*

So anyways, in conclusion my opinion of the Boardwalk is this: MEH.

It's a great idea in theory, and I particularly like the fact that you can build your own rollercoasters- something I haven't fully explored yet- but I just don't think there's a fat lot else you can do on the lot.

I think the only way you could increase the fun content of the Boardwalk is to incorporate the World of Wonder set so you would have features like a carousel and a popcorn machine, but that would cost you the same amount of Simpoints again. It would cost you 3800 Simpoints in total for both sets- about £24 to me, and you could buy an actual expansion pack for that!

So yeah, I wouldn't bother.

But at least we have the beautiful memories to treasure.

Frazzled

So I've been playing The Sims 2 again for about a week now, and it is as glorious as I remembered. Silly, goofy, wonderfulness.

I just wanted to share one of my favourite moments so far, which was when my lovely Servo Jimminy Billy Bob ran amok and went spazzing through the house shocking everyone.

He went after this poor old lady over and over again, by which point I was crying with laughter (yes it's sadistic of me but it was hella funny).

Inbetween lols I was frantically clicking away trying to get one of my other Sims to power down the Servo, but it just wasn't happening.
He didn't even touch anyone else though, just the old lady.

And then she died.

It's tough to be a Sim.

Work, Bitch

Hold on to your goopy carbonara people, as EA have just announced a new update for The Sims 4...

Erm, whut?

Maybe I'm crazy, but is this not something that should come as standard? Obviously I've not played TS4 much so I guess I don't fully know what's included in the game, but come on- family relationships are something that you've only just added?? Smh...

But there was some other news on the forums that actually did peak my interest a bit.

Some of my favourite expansions in previous games have been Open for Business in TS2 and Ambitions in TS3, so I'm not gonna lie- the job/business thing is appealing to me.

But appealing enough for me to actually splash the cash on it? Hmm, I dunno. Methinks I'm going to have to delve back into playing TS4 for a little while to see if it's worth my time first.

Wish me luck.

Desperate Times

I don't really go on the Sims forums much these days, and therefore constantly find myself completely out of the loop.

Such as today, when I saw this:

Things that bad huh EA?

Now to be honest I've not touched my Sims 4 game since maybe the day after I bought it, so I'm not really surprised that EA are having to stoop to these levels to get people to play the game.

Oh you could say that it has nothing to do with the success of the game, that they just happened to decide to let people trial the game for free, but come on...

I now find myself wishing that I'd not bothered getting the game to begin with, as I could have just waited for the free trial to get my 48 hours worth- after all that's all I've played it for so far.

Sometimes I think maybe I should give The Sims 4 another go- people are saying it will be better with expansion packs and so on, but I'm not willing to waste my money on EPs to go with a base game that is just shoddy to begin with. Okay, maybe that's not entirely fair- the gameplay is good, I like the interactions and so on, but overall it's just fucking boring. There's so much missing compared to the previous incarnations it's embarrassing.

Sims 3 for life bebbe.
 Well, not just Sims 3.

Guess what I'm installing atm...

*ODDISH FOR SCALE*

Ah goofy Sims 2 days, how I have missed you.

I Have A Little Present For You All...

Yes, it's you dear!

I've finally been somewhat organised and have done a bit of uploading, and consequently Lylah Wolf is now available for you to download and enjoy.

Now in terms of CC to be honest it would take far too long for me to list it all, so it might be easier for you to just ask me if there's anything in particular you want.

I do recall that her hair is Anubis though.

Download my gal Lylah HERE, and do let me know how she gets on in your games yes?
